BTW, do you know if it was common for Heuer to use Stainless steel plated cases (in the diving watches) in the early days and then switch to solid SS in the mid 80’s?

I happen to have a old 1000 series diver (mid size) with a ss plated case. Looks exactly the same as the Tag Heuer version too.

Anyway, thought you might know something.
