I was going to title this "Arno('s book) made me do it" but when I got the book and watch out to photograph (crappy iPhone shot incoming I'm afraid), I realised it wasn't actually the case.
You see, the watch in question isn't in the book. It close cousin in gold-plate is, and that's what I photographed it against here. I'd already admired the 110.255 in the book and how various details differed from the 1153 predecessor but the clincher came when Arno sent me some photos of a 110.253 G in absolutely pristine condition. So the next time I saw one I had to have it, although the condition is nowhere near that of Arno's. Still, it's a nice watch and a bit different from most second gen Carreras and the 110.255 was one of the watches I considered bidding on at Arno's auction.
I have a "Chuck made me do it" watch too, of course, my 510.511 purchase was prompted by his writing on the Lemania 5100.
