Re: Heuer Carrera 1553S Mclaren world champions 1974

The Tachy scales aren't date diagnostic on second gen Carreras Amer - both are used interchangeably after the one with Tachy at 1 is introduced. The earliest watches seem routinely to have the Tachy at 3 scale but both are in use for some time by the time the 1553 is introduced.

Arno recently suggested it might tie in to the country of purchase and its preferred unit of distance, which I think could be feasible. Although McLaren is a UK based team, so you'd think this one might have the other bezel if that were the case.

In my experience, it's very rare to see the Tachy at 3 bezel on any 1553.
