The watch is from late in the 7th batch of 1163s I have identified Lou. There are two further batches of 1163s after this as well, some of which were Viceroy-alikes even though the promotion had long ended.
It's not impossible it was bought new in 1976 but, from what I can see from serials, it would have had to have been sitting somewhere unsold for 3 years beforehand.
