brushed vs. blasted vs. grey *PIC*

Hello Paul,

: Your suspicions are correct and these had PVD coated cases - black,
: green and in your case Pewter. The coatings did not wear very
: well so its understandable that it may have been polished to
: match the earlier case finish or a replacement case was used. It
: still looks very good to me.

Yes, I really love it like it is, maybe until I see the correct execution in flesh.

The case back shows the correct marks and reference number, the case is marked 11063V, which is correct for a PVD Autavia.

Before I bought this watch -- BTW for a fair price -- I compared the watch with the images on OTD:

http://onthedash.com/Guide/_Chronographs/62.Autavia/d.Automatic_Autavias/x.Reference_112.603

The surface of this watch looks more blasted than brushed but does not look like plated grey either. The bezel insert looks different.

: Here is an example of a black PVD coated Carrera of the same era.

Thanks for the image. While it is easy to recognize the solid black coating, I have problems with the grey coating looking similar to to stainless steel.

Cheers,

Mick
