Interesting link. Especially so as what people refer to as "wabi" in terms of watches is more accurately "sabi". Perhaps we should use that, or both in combination. But language is a mutable thing, especially when appropriated into another language, where it can take different subtleties of meaning. There are German words that can more accurately or efficiently describe something than English and ideally I would use a patois of the two, sprinkled with a few words from other languages for flavour and convenience... wait a moment, that's pretty much what English is already!

Japanese can be a wonderfully descriptive language, and open to a considerable degree of interpretation. This Acer palmatum cultivar is "Ukigumo", "floating clouds":

Some contrast to a lot of the more prosaically named Western cultivars.
