Re: RIP Ayrton Senna: 18 Years Ago Today

: Ayrton was one of the greatest.

It's really hard to believe it's been 18 years. Also remember where I was when I heard, I was talking on the phone in my office and my brother-in-law who has encyclopedic knowledge of all F1 and Le Mans history came over to tell me the news. It was unbelievable. I was racing in Formula Ford at the time and thinking if Ayrton couldn't survive motor racing with all his skill what chance did I have? I do remember having those first real thoughts that my 20-something year old (at the time) risk-taking could catch up to me, like it did Ayrton. You can only be lucky so many times, and on that day Ayrton's ran out.
