Valjoux 72 riddle?

Ok A Danish friend of mine has raised this issue:

Take a look at all of your Valjoux 72 watches and tell me why the top pusher is closer to the winding crown then the bottom one, on any other watch the winding crown is precisely in the middle of the pushers …!!

I checked 12 watches, 5 brands, from 1969 to 1985: all had this!

WHY????????????

ps, Chuck, does the manual tell anything?
