Carrera 45; 41xxx; HL Movement; Painted Black Hands?

I a late getting into this thread, but let me summarize what we have seen, as follows:

  • Carrera 45
  • with 41xxx serial number
  • movement marked Heuer Leonidas
  • hands are painted black
I cannot add any information or explanation . . . only a series of question marks ? ? ? This is baffling, in many respects. Prototype case (with super early SN)? Prototype hands (that we have never seen before)? But a later movement, switched in at some point (or maybe a later bridge)? Indeed, more questions than answers.

Tomorrow, I can try to get some information from our best expert.
