For me the answer has to be the best ones are the pair that finally turn up to go into my example.
My low serial number version (488XX) is right on the border and could have come from the factory with either pair of hands in place.
I think in terms of looks i prefer the steel framed lume version but they each provide a wonderful look.

The Dauphine hands are a bit of a paradox of Heuer design as far as i'm concerned. They really do reflect the last gasp of 50's watch design yet they are placed in a dramatically beefed up case with bezel in place (very modern for that period). Its almost like they needed the link of the older style hands to make their customers feel more familiar with the radically new designed Autavia.
