Using an old Heuer diver...for diving?

I've struck a deal on a decent Heuer 980.006 that has recently been serviced. The service receipt states, "Due to the age of this case and no availability of new glass seals it whould not be regarded as waterproof. Please keep dry."

So, what's the story on this, aside from the face value. Will it handle an occasional bath? shower? car wash? I'm not talking 20,000 leagues under the sea...but...

Thanks
