I've had a NOS watch from the same chap you bought that from, he has some really interesting stuff (including a watch I really really want, a 1000M Seamaster).

: developed the Super Compressor case until I bought this 70's

: emblem on the dial, the most promising suggestion so far is that
: it could be South African Police Diving Unit, which was around
: in the late 60's/early 70's. The font type is certainly similar
