Whilst it is true that Clapton is famously associated with the Fender Stratocaster i'd like to point out that there's no Fender Strat in Eric's hands here.
I beleive Clapton is using a Gibson Les Paul in the top black and white photo and possibly a Gibson SG in the lower 2 photo's.
All three are landmark electric guitars and placed in the hands of a legend such as Eric Clapton give an amazing result (hell they'll even allow an amateur like myself to sound pretty reasonable).
I lust after an early 70's Gibson SG in straight black - one day !!
