Help Identify This 1940s(?) Heuer *LINK*

I have attempted in vain to learn the origin of this particular Heuer. I've learned that accuracy of serial numbers and/or the light the serial number should share on each Heuer is suspect.

It is to you at Chrono Centric to help me to learn the type of Heuer I have, when it would have been made, and the purpose of the design (air flight, automobile travel, or just as a casual timepiece).

I thank you very much in anticipation of your replies.
