Alternative suggestion

You could always get yourself a standard 1163V, have the case rebrushed correctly by Abel and a good Bezel insert fitted, if it didn't come with one already. Then have your Chronomatic serviced and put the movement, dial and hands into the restored case. Then you can store the correct, original, case etc somewhere safe, along with the movement, dial and hands from the 1163V. You can then use the watch (which will look correct and fantastic) and not have to worry about damaging it any more, and if you want to sell it you could put the two watches back together correctly and you'll probably even make a profit on the cheaper watch.
