Following up on a conversation with a reader this morning, I did a bit of research and learned that the exchange rate in 1968 was $2.38 (USD) per Pound Sterling (GBP).

So at this exchange rate, Chronosport was selling either the Carrera Dato 12 or the Rally-Master pair for $105. [So let's approximate that at a 20-to-1 appreciation over the last 36 years.] The most expensive item in the entire catalog was the Split-Second Pocket Chronograph, which would have cost $205. [Appreciation of these is around 4-to-1 or 5-to-1.]
