Yes you can bring it back!
Get some neats foot oil form a saddel shop. get it real wet and rub it in loys of it in front of the tv so you get it warm with your hands and keep pulling and rubbing it aftre time it will be fine before it compleatly dries put it on any watch and where it snug and let it dry that way and you will have saved a nice old band.
