Readers: What was your first Heuer moment??

Interesting to go back to the very first Heuer experience.

In 1998, I saw an article in an English "classic cars" magazine that showed a selection of the stopwatches and timers used to time races and rallies in the 1960's; the spread included a photo of a Rally-Master pair that caught my eye; I bought my first dash-mounted timer in December 1998 (Super Autavia (shown below) for $600, after a "reserve not met auction"); and the rest is history.

So do you still have this Kentucky? At least a photo?

: This wellknown 1980s Heuer Kentucky Chronograph
: was the first Heuer I had on Ebay for a
: friend who asked me to list it for him.
: This was in 1999, when my Heuer love and all
: the nice friendships with the Heuer fans
: started.
: Then I started collecting Heuers by myself.
: I blame Jeff with OTD, Jim, David and Stewart
: for all the joy of sharing, collecting and
: photographing the Heuer stuff over the
: years.
