Re: My new arrival - Omega Big Blue

I love these watches. I had one for a couple of years, needed some cash so did a part trade on it, then traded it back again this summer. It had been to Bienne for a full restoration previous to my ownership and came with the bits they'd replaced, less the bezel which had apparently remained at Bienne in exchange for a nice discount on all the work. I found a nice original bezel and the watch is currently at STS in the UK having all the old bits put on. It will come back with a perfectly lapped case but the old parts fitted. You can see it looking new next to my 1000M which has already been to STS to have all the old parts put back on it. Both Big Blue and 1000M are big watches but work well on Omega rubber straps. The BB has funny lugs which make a mesh or bracelet come out vertically, which feels odd on the wrist but wouldn't notice on a wetsuit.
