Re: My new arrival - Omega Big Blue

Beautiful Stewart. I just purchased a 1000m as well, and patiently waiting for its arrival. I also picked up a 600m last week (waiting for it's arrival) with a pretty good condition Type 1 dial, which are hard to find, especially in good condition. The only challenge now is to find an original bezel for it, with the "1" being a straight line, similar to your 1000m bezel. If you have access to this type of bezel, I would really appreciate any referrals. I have looked everywhere, and no luck yet on finding one.

I'm in the midst of getting a Baby Ploprof (SM120) and a SHOM SM200. Hope that I can close the deal on these two beauties. I will take a group shot once I get everything in and post them.

Cheers
Carlo

: I love these watches. I had one for a couple of years, needed some
: cash so did a part trade on it, then traded it back again this
: summer. It had been to Bienne for a full restoration previous to
: my ownership and came with the bits they'd replaced, less the
: bezel which had apparently remained at Bienne in exchange for a
: nice discount on all the work. I found a nice original bezel and
: the watch is currently at STS in the UK having all the old bits
: put on. It will come back with a perfectly lapped case but the
: old parts fitted. You can see it looking new next to my 1000M
: which has already been to STS to have all the old parts put back
: on it. Both Big Blue and 1000M are big watches but work well on
: Omega rubber straps. The BB has funny lugs which make a mesh or
: bracelet come out vertically, which feels odd on the wrist but
: wouldn't notice on a wetsuit.
