Hello Jeff,
I don't think this to be a "fun photo".
In the 70's Porsche built their cars on a
frame structure. (In 3 dimensions of course).
Therefore they were well informed about the
forces that treated the frame. The "accsessories"
were added later.
They their succsseses in Le Lans with this concept,
but a short time later they learned to use the
monoquoque sys concept.
The Porsche 917 is one of the most beautiful cars
to me, except for the Lola T70 and the Ferrari
330 P4.
