Off-Topic -- Maybe the Italians are Different??

Angry driver bashes his brand new car after it doesn’t start

Good luck trying to resell that car!

A man in Italy hadn’t even gotten the new car smell out of his Fiat 500 when he picked up an ax and demolished the car when it wouldn’t start.
When Spartaco Capon turned the key to his brand new ride and nothing happened, the Italian snapped — taking his anger out on the tiny vehicle as if he was Paul Bunyan.

All the 35-year-old needed to do was to get to work on time, especially since his boss had already given him a warning about being late in the past, Central European News reports.

The sole reason he shelled out the cash to buy the vehicle was because he was sick of dealing with unreliable public transport in the northern Italian town of Lissone, which consistently had him running late to his accounting job.

When Capon realized he would be late for work, yet again, he grabbed his ax and unleashed his fury on the unreliable new whip — turning the Fiat into vehicular Swiss cheese.

“Normally in incidents like this it’s not people smashing up their own car, but he was able to prove it was his,” said local police spokesman, Anastasio Gallo. “We think he must have been under a lot of stress at work lately and he was taken to hospital where doctors helped to calm down and are keeping him in for tests.”
Even though Capon is now being treated in a psychiatric ward at the hospital and his car has been declared totaled, he can’t be labeled insane for thinking the Fiat 500 is a useless piece of junk.

Last week, Consumer Reports named Fiat the most unreliable car brand on the market, according to Fox News.

The organization’s annual owner survey also found that the Fiat 500 L — a slightly larger, four-door version of the Fiat 500 — was named the least reliable car on sale today.
