Re: Any random Motorsport magazine history article....

Hello Shaun,

Thanks for sharing. (That's what I write always), but
I enjoyed very much to see the "Old Heroes" again,
such as Teddy Mayer and Gordon Murray. I'll have a
closer look on the Christmas days.

I wish You a merry Christmas and all the best in 2015.

Best whishes
Werner Boeinck

: I picked up a copy of Motorsport magazine the other day. I'm not a
: huge Motorsport fan, but the historic articles are usually
: interesting. What struck me was this; they had a 20 page
: "advertorial" supplement with about 20 current watch
: manufacturers trying desperately to associate their watches with
: the image of car racing, including TH with the Mcqueen pic and
: the photoshopped new Monaco (stupid marketing decision). None of
: it felt remotely authentic. But then you turn to any random
: article about motorsport in the 60's-80's and you see photos of
: Heuers on the drivers, mechanics and team managers ..... real
: authenticity rather than paid adverts....

: Sorry if these photos are too well known, but I didn't know them.
: There was an article on Alastair Caldwell, who started at the
: bottom at Mclaren (great story) and rose up to team manager. In
: the article there are a few photos:

: Alistair with a Pasedena (or maybe Porsche design):
:
:

: Another shot (the bracelet does look maybe PD?):
:
:

: In this one Alistair has what looks like a art deco watch but the
: guy next to him looks like he's wearing a Calculator:
:
:

: If you like the photos, go to his website, it has a lot of cool
: photos and info (http://www.alastaircaldwell.com/)
