Hi all,

I just read the post from Amer and Lanny and I cannot take the breath from the Chris one ;-) ..... this year seems that some collectors have shown great "fire power", so even if my weapon is very inoffensive compared to those ones, I still decided to give my 2 cents to enjoy sharing this post with you.
Let's start in order:

a) your favorite watch acquisition of the year – perhaps a lucky BuyItNow or flea market find, or maybe a project that turned out particularly well

This year I have been lucky because I found two NOS watches (a Monaco 1133B - already posted here so I will skip it - and a Movado, see later) but the watches that gave me more satisfaction were an 11630GMT and a Montreal white, both bought here from two fellow collectors.
For both, I was looking for a good one for months and finally I caught them :-)

b) a new model that became the focus of your collecting or a watch that you discovered or admired, Heuer or non-Heuer, of course

This is my one-and-only (until now) non-Heuer (excluding some modern TAGHeuer), a really NOS Movado Chronodiver Super Sub Sea with M95 movement, and even if less valuable than many Heuer, I think is a real rarity and beauty... and I posted it here: http://chronocentric.com/forums/heuer/index.cgi?page=1;md=read;id=72922

my local watchmaker told me that rarely he had seen a movement so beautifully refinished, even considering that has been made in 1965 circa:

c) a favorite photo that you took during the year

Probably this (sorry for the awuful quality of the image), taken few days ago on the Christmas day: my 3 years old little daughter received from Santa Claus her first watch, a real "Peppa Pig" quartz Carrera-style one... now she has her own and can stop looking at the daddy ones into the bedside table :-)

d) a favorite strap or bracelet, or some other watch accessory

This is the easiest point, this strap is just arrived from Giuliano and will dress an Autavia 11630MH with orange hands as soon as it will return from Abel's atelier. Giuliano found a black leather that is really similar to the Corfam one:

e) a box, carrying case, winder or other accessory that you are enjoying

Not a single accessory, but many ones: this year has been the year of the "servicing learning", I made my homeworks and started to make some simple jobs on some of my watches, so needed a basic tool set...

f) a new blog or website that you discovered, or an interesting person who you are following on social media

This website: http://watchguy.co.uk/

It contains a lot of information about how to service a Chronomatic Cal12 movement (search for "buren 11"):

g) a favorite get-together or meeting with other enthusiasts

This year I have had the pleasure to know other collectors of this forum. One of those is Gianvittorio "GVM", we had a very long talk about our passion and I understood, once again, that I still have many many things to learn...

Thanks you all for reading.

Gianluca
