I disagree.

I'm a member of a few guitar discussion boards and generally the rule is that posting a single, simple notice announcing that you have something for sale on eBay is OK. Obviously a post that reads like an advert isn't OK! If another board member is interested then it's time to take it to email.

Some guitar boards use eBay as entertainment and an educational tool. From simply admiring the pieces for sale to "Is this a fake? - Why is it a fake? - What can we learn from this?"
