Store, Stash, and Show

I rarely keep much of my collection anywhere other than in safety deposit boxes at the bank. Every once in a while I do want to show a few of them off though....So, I collect display items of the same vintage of the watches to be displayed. I particularly collect the boxes that salesmen used to show retail customers watches. I also love counter-top displays from jewelry stores. Since my collection is mostly pocket watches (I doubt I have more than 20 wrist watches total) most of what I have accumulated relates to the pockets.

Here are two of my most prized display items. The Illinois Watch Company box has no watches in it because it is 100 years old and a bit fragile. The counter-top display is where I put watches if we have friends coming over and want to show off a few conversation starters.
