Movado -- A Big Fall from Glory Years to the "Mall Brands"
In Response To: Movado Lost it a Long Time Ago ()

Yes, Movado made some nice chronograph in the 60s and 70s, and it was a big fall, to get to the "Mall Brands" that they currently own.

What about this beauty, probably from the 1940s!!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

: This is certainly outrageous if true but this brand was off of the
: collector radar a long time ago. I have owned several vintage
: 60's and 70's Movados including the wonderful Zenith ELP
: variety. I have a pretty good friend who was one of their Master
: Watchmakers in New York from the '80s through the 90's. They
: came to a fork in the road and took the wrong path when they
: started selling their goods in discount stores. The only good
: thing about the brand now is that sometimes you can pick up the
: nice old watches at under value because the pawn shop owners
: relate them to the recent junk.
