I agree with you completely as regards the strategy. Whether it will work or not is up to the future.

One of my points about tourbillons in general is that modern machining techniques make this complication...well...less complicated to make. I have been told that between around 1800 when Breguet made the first tourbillon and when the one I own which was made around 1850, only approximately 50 tourbillons were made...in the whole world...by anybody. There were tons of repeaters made in those same years. Before multi-axis mills were invented it was really difficult to make a tourbillon. It was the measure of a watchmaker who wanted to be recognized as elite.

Now you can buy a Chinese tourbillon for a few grand. How big a deal is it these days? As I said, in the case of TAG Heuer, only time will tell.
