although I do not profess to be a historian in any way, If I recall correctly although Belgium withdrew from Congo as a colonial power, the unrest that subsequent unstable
regimes forced a UN and Belgian intervention up to and as late as 1966.

By my understanding of the Carrera series, this would place the Belgian military issue in exactly the right time frame for the Belgium Congo crisis.
