Three register no date for me always., although a two register watch can look better balanced with the date at 6.
Anyway just my preference and possibly years of wearing a 70s speedmaster professional biased me away from wanting or needing a date on the dial.
Between the 7863 and 2446 it would be the 2446 every time but then the later red accents 2446 c has long been a dream watch of mine. I have a late 7763 and love it's case presence on the wrist while those red highlights give a nice sense of moving from the monochrome 60s into a more colourful future.
