Lesson No. One: A "Poor Man's Heuer" Must be Made by Heuer

Lesson Number One for poor Christain (or anyone else pondering the mysteries of the "Poor Man's Heuers") -- a "Poor Man's Heuer" must be made by Heuer. In this phrase, "Poor Man's" is the adjective; the phrase is modifying the noun "Heuer" . . . to be called a Heuer, the watch must have been made by Heuer.

If we show Christain a "red car", then we are talking a "car" (not a bus, truck, apple or camera) . . . same with a "spotted dog", in which case we are discussing a "dog" (not a cat, elephant, tree or book).

The Clebar shown below was made by Heuer; it came from the Heuer factory . . . it is one of the "Poor Man's Heuers".

Point of information for Christain -- there are not "a hundred different brands" of Poor Man's Heuers.

Homework from the first lesson: In the following sentence, please identify the four words that are nouns -- The young man wearing the Poor Man's Heuer sat in is red car, with his spotted dog.

: A little mid-week entertainment:

: Christian, from Theo & Harris, an (inexpensive) vintage watch
: dealer and blog, discusses "poor man's Heuers" and how
: he thinks they are grossly overpriced for no reason, in the most
: recent episode of his video
: series...

https://theoandharris.com/ask-theo-harris-episode-24-poor-smart-mans-heuers/

: Now, I usually take the blog and these guys with a large grain of
: salt because their target market is very different, but it's
: sometimes interesting to hear a different perspective on things.
: And I realize it's kind of his thing to push buttons and shake
: things up a bit however, this young man has clearly never held a
: vintage Heuer Carrera. Now, maybe I'm being overly sensitive
: since I own one, but his facts about the "poor man's
: Carreras" are not only misleading they're just not true
: (and he thinks Autavias trade lower?). I don't have a problem
: with his estimation that the cheaper panda dial chronographs
: will keep rising in price, but to say things
: like:

"they're (the actual Heuer Carreras) going to
: fall in value, they're not as amazing as everyone thinks they
: are"
: "I saw someone selling one for $17,000, what an
: @ssh0le..."

: is laughable and just plain uninformed.

: So, get out while you can and liquidate those 2447s guys. I'll be
: generous and offer you $3k per good condition 2447 you have.
