: I am shopping to buy a HEUER modern re-edition
: of 3 register "Carrera". I am told
: the watch is Circa 1990's Manual wind-18
: jeweled caliber Lemania 1873 movement.
: 35mm case white dial
: Does this sound correct? I can e mail pictures.
: Price I am paying is 1,100.

Hi there

They are an extremely rare watch, particularly if you can get a "new" 1964 re-edition. I purchased one recently - white dial, manual wind lemania 1873 movement. Unfortunately they sent the WRONG box and instructions so it would pay to ask in advance if the watch ships with a correct "classics" box. Search this forum for more information on the 1964 Carrera re-edition.

Anyway, as J.H. pointed out, Chuck Maddox has a written a very long and interesting article on the history of the Carrera. I recommend that you read it.

cheers,

Greg
