Watch service 101 question... 1163 stem

Inspired by Gianluca's post, I decided to learn some basic watch service skills.

I have graduated to removing the crown from an 1163; I have practiced it successfully on a few watches to get dial only photos, so I sort of know what I am doing. But on my latest Autavia 1163 attempt, I can't get the crown and stem out. I do the recommended 1.5 turns on 5443, and the stem comes lose, but then it sticks and I can't get it out the case. I started again and tried a few times but always it gets stuck. I don't want to try and force it. But whatever I try I can't get it to come out the last few mm.

Any suggestions?

thanks
Shaun
