Was anybody else following this Valjoux 72 auction?

I was surprised to see this Rodania Geometer pop up on EBAY. It's the chronograph that originally lit the fire for many Val. 72 watches now discussed here daily. They're not common, and I just bought the same model, so I was watching with interest. Bidding shot up to $4500, then the seller pulled the auction on the last day.

Seller claimed "the item was lost or broken" reason for ending the auction, and he's not answering questions. Was anybody else after this one?

Thanks - Bill
