Competition? Confession? Confusion?

with the announced theme for our next Scan Day being "Competitors", last night I had the urge to examine (and photograph) my one and only Omega, purchased in December 2004.

I'm not entirely certain why I purchased this one, but probably the combination of several factors:

  • I have always wanted to try an Omega

  • I have always wanted to try a watch with a rotating inner bezel

  • I really like dual time zone watches

  • the colors seemed really neat -- I mean, what other watch has such an elegant combination of gray, red, black, white, blue and orange?

  • appears that it will bring me luck at the roulette table?

so having now owned the watch for a few months, my reaction is that it's a fun, good-looking chrono (when you are in the mood for these colors); this Omega is nice, but I don't want to run out and begin collecting the brand; my next Omega, if there will be one, should be something more conventional / classical, like a pre-Moon Speedmaster.

any reactions to this confession / confusion?

Jeff
