My Question: If You Have a Dial, Easy to Find Carrera Donor?
In Response To: Skipperera Goes Big *PIC* ()

So my question for the group -- If you owned a good Skipper dial, wouldn't it be relatively easy to find a Carrera donor; have the movement tweaked (for 15 minute recorder); paint the chronograph second hand; and off you go?

Seems unlikely to me that someone pays $30,000 for these donor parts.

What am I missing?

Jeff

: One of our grails was put up on the block today... seems like many
: of you were watching. Damaged dial but still went for £19,000
: (before premium). Estimate was hilariously low at 400-800 but
: still. Thoughts?
