Re: Cal 11 Service Recommendations

: I have just sent a Cal 11 Hamilton to Richard Askham
: http://thewatchspotblog.com . He has done excellent work on pure
: wind-up Valjoux movements I have and was honest to say he didn't
: really want to work on a Dubois-Dépraz 2020 again (in a Speedy
: "reduced"). Has done a few Cal 11s before and so
: accepted the job. Mark Lovick http://www.watchservices.co.uk
: did the Speedy and it works beautifully, so he could also be a
: good choice.

: Mike

Thanks, Mike.

This will be my first Cal 11 I am sending out for service. My current watchmaker says he has done many, but that I may run the risk of making my running watch, with inaccurate minute register, worse with the attempted service — it may come back as a non-runner. Yikes!

So I would really like to locate someone who has a significant history of Cal 11 service (and more confidence in the results! LOL).
