reassembly advice?

I thought I had found a proper bezel for my 1163T. After plenty of stress and research, I decided to remove the bezel. I took care to save the little bead clicker (only 1 was installed). Sadly, the replacement bezel was not what I had hoped, so now I want to remount the original bezel. The spring is intact. I made sure it was seated in the groove that is away from the insert. I then align the gap in the spring to be the last bit to pop onto the case.
Is the spring in the wrong groove?
Is there any advice or trick you know of to reinstall the bezel? I do not have a tool for this, but it seems like I should be able to press it on with my fingers.
Thanks,
Mike
