Re: Viceroy Autavia
In Response To: Viceroy Autavia ()

Hi Don, welcome to the forum & great to hear your wonderful story.
Its fantastic to hear of an original owner still in possession of the treasure he originally purchased back in the day. The Viceroy promotion is legendary within the history of Heuer & to hear an account of an owner that chose to use the promotion as an entry point to ownership is uplifting. You can be assured we readers would have done the same thing at the time if it was at all possible.
We would love to see some photos if at all possible , if you are unable to load them to the forum feel free to email them to me on my email above ( please remove both the NOSPAM from the address ) and i will show them on your behalf.

Have a merry Christmas - Darren

: I still wear the Viceroy Autavia that I bought new in 1972. I
: always wanted an Autavia but at $200, they were beyond my means
: at the time, but when I saw the ad I quickly ordered one for
: $88. My mother smoked Viceroys at the time. The watch has been
: dead reliable. I sent it back to Heuer in NJ for service about
: 1998 or so. I spent $125 on a cleaning, a new crystal and a
: metal Heuer band very similar to a Rolex Jubilee band. I have a
: couple of other watches I wear but I probably wear the Autavia
: the equivalent of four months a year. Still works great and
: loses about one minute a week.
