Further Report from NAWCC National Convention

Following up on my earlier report from the mart at the 2017 NAWCC National convention; I finally saw a couple of decent Heuers on mart tables. I saw a couple of Dashboard timers which were pretty outrageously priced and not selling and a blue Monaco, a transitional Second/Third execution 2446C GMT and a few pre Carreras. The blue Monaco was pretty decent but not perfect with a very slight flaw on the dial and it sold for a strong $16,000+ price. I almost bought the GMT but as I walked away to think about it for a minute I saw this very Carrera looking LeCoultre Master Mariner Chronograph on another table about 50 feet from the GMT...and I bought it instead of the GMT.

The LeCoultre is 18k Screw-Back with a beautiful linen finish dial which changes color radically as the light hits it from different angles. The subs are gilt with the same color of gold as the markers and hands. It seems to be from about 1960 or so. It is about the same size as a 64 Carrera 2447 but it wears bigger. I think it looks great on my big wrist and it has only come off for yard work so far. I think I'm in love.
