Early 1970s Heuer-Leonidas Photocell HL 2-1

Picked this up completely randomly a few weeks ago from eBay, not knowing anything when I clicked the BIN button apart from the fact it looks pretty cool ! I discussed a little already with Stewart M, and also with Jeff who kindly asked Hans Schrag what he knew.

The HL 2-1 was the second generation of the visible light photocells from the early 70's, with the only difference between HL2 and HL 2-1 is in the connection of the trigger wires and the colors. HL2 was blue. The uses were multiple: skiing, track, etc. If anyone can provide more info, especially if anyone has a catalogue entry for it from the seventies, then please feel free to post here !

Anyway, here are some pictures, and it seems if you point your camera in through the lens you can pick up the circuitry inside. I guess it's completely useless, but it looks neat and that's enough for me !
