Re: Heuer 1153 Help
In Response To: Heuer 1153 Help ()

Hello there. The early automatic Carreras are lovely watches and probably undervalued nowadays compared to Autavias and everything handwound, which is the latest trend as I see it.
The blue dialled one has a dial that looks a bit “tired” and however the pictures are so small and low-res that it is hard to make a proper assessment. The white one looks much better although the central chrono hand does look a bit askew - hopefully something easy to fix. Neither a real bargain but the second seems to be a better value for money to me.
Your watchmaker is right about parts availability, but there are a few well-stocked specialists and of course TH too. Do consider though which shade you like more. I for one have only bought a single watch with a light-coloured dial and while I love it, I don’t think I’all ever buy another as I find it much harder to read.
My 2c, for what it’s worth.
Cheers,
Fabrizio
