How to open an Autavia Compression Case?

Am I the only one struggeling each time, when I want to open an Autavia Compression Case?
Does anyone have a piece of advise on how to open those? Is there a tool smoothly doing the job?

When I get this right, there is a notch around the case back, but that's not where it will open, right?

Thanks for any kind of help!
