Some interesting thoughts but allow me to disagree with some. :-)
You know better ways to make money than investing in watches? I don't to be honest. But of course I missed the bitcoin hype.
You think Ara is going to lose money on his watch? On the long term? Really? I don't know how that would be possible.
I'll take his watch today for the price he paid. I have owned a lot of Viceroys. And when I say a lot, I mean really a lot. So not just 10. Not just 20.
So I think I can say I know the model pretty well. Chances he will lose money on that watch ( with all the fabulous accessories in NOS condition ) when he can keep it in that condition?

I agree it's not a rare reference. But in this condition with the red sticker and all the goodies? Try to find another one. Good luck with that. It's incredibly hard to find.
You can take my word on that. True collectors pay top money for a NOS full set Viceroy. And don't forget there is a big difference between just good and NOS when it comes to Heuer watches.
So to be honest, it's an incredible catch and I am incredibly jealous. :-)
