I kow you might have a reason to restore the Diver watch you so proudly own, but I might suggest you just wear it proudly and search for one in better condition or perhaps a more valuable automatic model. The quartz watches are nice but I am not sure where the cross over point might be to spending excess money on a not too valuable watch.
Just my thought that might steer you in another direction.
