Meanwhile, in Geneva, the Newest Carrera . . .

This week is the SIHH show, in Geneva. Traditionally, this is a big week for the brands in the Richemont Group, but not such a big deal for the LVMH brands.

Still, TAG Heuer usually shows a couple of new watches during the Geneva gatherings.

The big news for TAG Heuer seems to be a new carbon composite hairspring, that is being made in-house by TAG Heuer. Here it is in a new version of the Carrera.

Having the ability to manufacture its own hairsprings is a big deal for TAG Heuer. Traditionally, most Swiss hairsprings were made by Nivarox, which is now part of the Swatch Group. So having this capability in-house at TAG Heuer is a big step in ensuring a reliable supply. The new hairspring also incorporates several new technical features that will contribute to excellent timekeeping.
