Yes he was a 3-register guy - his favourite chrono reportedly the then Omega Seamaster chrono w/ the V7750 inside.
I have developed my own version of this rule: no chronos without a 12-hour counter. So never a cal. 15 although I do appreciate chronos without running seconds such as the cal. 12 or the modified V7750 or L5100-ones that do without that - and have a lovingly balanced dial as a consequence.
