Sorry Neil! I couldn't resist!

Vintage Heuer Autavia query..... Posted By: Neil (UK) Date: 6/11/05 16:54 GMT

Hi, first time poster on this forum but I know Chuck from another forum we post on as I mainly collect Speedmasters.......

TimeZone Omega Forum actually... We're a little different than many on-line forums... We don't mind mentioning other forums and in fact direct links or portals to off site forum post's are permitted. We know and acknowledge that we don't live in a vacuum!

......anyway I have just bought this Heuer Autavia cheaply from a boot sale and would like some info please.

I'll tell you what I know...

Between the lugs @12 is 113076

Between the lugs @6 is 7763 (which I assume is the movement)

It is missing its crown and I tried to open the back to no avail. The back states "waterproof to 330ft" so is there a special case opening method?

Does this model have a screw down crown?

Can anyone date this model?

Thanks in advance for your help.

... and...

In Response To: Vintage Heuer Autavia query..... (Neil (UK))

I have found all the info I need via this site.

I should have looked before posting. LOL.

FYI my watch is an Autavia 30 Ref 7763T with a 7730 movement dating from 1968-71.

Even saw an original pic in the catalogue section with its bracelet although I will be going for a "holey" strap.

Congratulations on a great resource, even if some people don't check their first. ;-0

Cheers,

Yeah, we have to put up some sort of "Guide to using OnTheDash"...

Probably the closest I've done so far in a post is this:

Some more info and how I found it...:

Neil, Coingratulations on your Autavia! You ought to post the story of how you came to own her... People would love to hear it! And now that you're a Heuer owner don't be a stranger around here!

Cheers and Good Hunting!
