Breitling Shows Us How to Do a Re-Issue

Just announced (by Georges Kern, on Facebook) -- Breitling re-issue of the Navitimer, Reference 806, from 1959 . . . all-black dial.

Folks, in my opinion, this is how you do a re-issue!!

Things that caught my eye / attention about this new Navitimer

  • seems to be a one-for-one copy of the original (or just about one-for-one), with very good attention to detail
  • I am told that it will have a brand new, manual-winding movement that will power future re-issues of vintage models . . . that is huge news for vintage enthusiasts
  • perhaps as a result of being a one-for-one reproduction, the new watch looks very wearable
  • at $7,100, it fits right in with the Omega Ultraman (limited edition of 2,000), and $1,000 below the Fragment Carrera

Congratulations to all those who were a part of this project . . . you know who you are!!

Jeff
