I thought that it was worth sharing here --

    As a photographer, these Sotheby's pictures are just weird...simply weird. I am not saying they have actually fixed certain flaws...can't really tell but they have worked on the "look" a lot in post processing. It is hard to know exactly what has been done but it looks to me as if they have dialed up the "Clarity" in Adobe Lightroom to the point where the watches look fake. I wish they would simply light the watches well and not do so much post work on them.

I will share some thoughts on the current state of auction house photography, but first wanted to share John's comment.
